I’m Mark Holmes and I love to build. Rough Character is my design and fabrication business, and the name describes my passion for finding distinction and beauty in old, rough and weathered materials. New is great too—sometimes that’s the right way to go. But it’s really satisfying to take something that’s already had a life, a purpose, a use—that’s been discarded—and discover a new life within it.
